(Camino de Santiago, France and Spain): St Jean (Pied de Port) to Roncesvalles

From Barcelona, we headed by speed train to Pamplona (cutting it close/needing a taxi due to a 2-hour  metro strike - eek!)...and from beautiful Pamplona, we caught a 1.5 hr bus to St. Jean (France) to check out the official start of the Camino.  There, we bought hiking sticks and picnic lunch makings for tomorrow. We totally love St. Jean - the nicest, most excitable people you'd ever meet...and a cool little cobble stone medieval town.

Back by bus to the hamlet of Roncesvalles (Spain), this is our starting point on the Camino this trip.

Buen Camino!

The windy mountain road to St. Jean (over the Pyrenees)

It was foggy/overcast on the French side and totally sunny/warn on the Spain side!

Lovely St. Jean
