(Camino de Santiago) Lorca to Villa Mayor

Estamos in Villamayor de Monjardin a tranquila village.  Leaving Lorca at 6:20 a.m. this morning made the difference. The first few hours were beautiful and cool all the way to Estella.  We reached there at 8:30, told the hostel to cancel our reservation and continued walking while it stayed cool enough (AND we cut our long hike tomorrow - double bonus!).  We passed the Fuente de Irache - the wine and water fountain.  Jane filled up her portable wine pouch and we refilled with water to tackle a few hills in the already-intense sun.  Beautiful hike ~10.5 miles today - but really hot the last 30-60 minutes.

Gorgeous hike this morning. Makes such a difference when it's cool weather!

The water and wine fountains were flowing!

A little wine to go...at 10 am ;)

Down into Azqueta

Sharing a beer with Italian siblings in Azqueta (and helping each other make it the final sweltering leg to Villamayor and the alburgue).  We are meeting to many sibling duos and groups.
